About San Agustin Plaza

San Agustín Plaza sits on Avenida El Sol in central Cusco, directly across from the Qorikancha, the Temple of the Sun. That makes a first morning easy to plan: the temple is at the front door, the Plaza de Armas is a 10-minute walk, and Sacsayhuaman and the San Blas neighborhood are about 15 and 7 minutes away by car. The airport is roughly 15 minutes off.

The hotel has 77 rooms in six types: singles, queen-bed matrimonial rooms, doubles, triples, family rooms with two double beds, and Junior Suites with a king bed. Each type lists a heater, a minibar, a safe and a courtesy infusion kit, useful on cold Andean evenings. Wi-Fi is free in the rooms and public areas.

Kantu, the restaurant, serves Novo-Andean and international dishes, and Chaska is a small bar that holds 20 guests. Breakfast is a buffet that opens at 4:30 a.m., which suits early tours and trains. At reception, coca and muña tea is kept ready for guests adjusting to Cusco's elevation of about 3,399 meters.

Good to know

  • Breakfast service starts at 4:30 a.m., so guests leaving for dawn trains or tours can eat first.
  • Extra beds and cribs are available on request, but the hotel must confirm them, so ask before arrival.
  • The hotel faces a main avenue, so ask for a room away from the street if you are a light sleeper.
