About Hotel B
Hotel B fills a white stucco mansion on Avenida Sáenz Peña in Barranco, built in 1914 as a summer home for a wealthy Lima family. After a long restoration it opened as a hotel in May 2013 and now belongs to Relais & Châteaux. More than 300 works by Latin American artists hang in the public rooms and bedrooms, and the hotel offers guided tours of the collection. The Lucía de la Puente gallery is next door.
Food is a big part of a stay here. Tables are set in the library, the courtyard and on the roof, and an afternoon tea the hotel calls lonche is included for guests. B Restaurant builds its menu around native Peruvian ingredients, and the bar is a separate space. Breakfast is served in the library bar, a quiet room lined with books.
Bedrooms are styled one by one, with marble bathrooms and rain showers, and some have a private terrace or look onto the inner patio or the leafy street. Categories include Atelier suites and Aposento junior suites, spread between the old house and a newer wing. The hotel can arrange a cookery class, a sailing trip on the Pacific or a bike and yoga session. The Bridge of Sighs is about a 10-minute walk.
