About Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel

The hotel sits in a private mountainside reserve of about five hectares (12.3 acres), directly across from the Machu Picchu Pueblo train station. Whitewashed adobe casitas are strung along stone paths between terraced hills, waterfalls and gardens, so the walk to your room doubles as a nature walk. The grounds hold 372 native orchid species and hundreds of birds, and guides lead walks on site.

Rooms range from Superior and Superior Deluxe casitas through Junior Suites and Suites to the Suite Inkaterra and the two-suite Villa Inkaterra, which has a private garden, a heated plunge pool and a butler. Interiors use regional timber, eucalyptus beams, alpaca blankets and handmade details. Many casitas have a wood-burning fireplace, so ask whether yours does when you plan the trip.

Dinner is served à la carte and breakfast is a buffet, in a glass-walled dining room above the river. Café Inkaterra, beside the station, suits a lighter lunch. After a day at the citadel, the UNU Spa offers hot-stone work and a round Andean sauna roofed in eucalyptus. The hotel was awarded one MICHELIN Key in the 2025 announcement.

Perfect if you are

  • Couples and honeymoons

Good to know

  • The hotel is not the closest to the ruins, and the citadel visit takes about half a day, so plan bus and entry times around it.
  • Rooms are ready from 1 pm and checkout is 10 am; staff receive luggage to and from the train station.
  • Casitas are linked by stone paths across sloping forest, so guests with limited mobility should ask about room location when booking.
