About Hotel Paracas

The resort lies on the shore of Paracas Bay, facing the Paracas National Reserve and three hours south of Lima. Its 120 rooms and suites fill two-story white bungalows with blue doors, designed by the Peruvian architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia and set among bougainvillea and palms. Every room has a furnished terrace or balcony looking over the sea or the gardens, and suites add a separate sitting area. A few suites have their own plunge pool.

The private dock is the practical draw for wildlife lovers. The hotel runs yacht trips to the Ballestas Islands, where sea lions and penguins can be seen, on a 52-foot boat that also goes out for half-day or full-day outings. On land, guests can borrow kayaks, catamarans and sand bicycles. The concierge can also arrange a drive into the desert reserve that ends with a picnic at sunset, a pisco tour, or a flight to Nazca.

Meals are spread across three restaurants and two bars. Ballestas serves Peruvian and international dishes with views of the bay, La Trattoria makes pizza and fresh pasta, and Chalana, on the dock, specializes in fish and seafood. Children have Koni Camp, a program themed on the pre-Inca Paracas culture, and their own family pool. Adults can book treatments at the AQU Spa, which has a whirlpool.
