About Tambo del Inka

Tambo del Inka stands on Avenida Ferrocarril in Urubamba, beside the river and a short walk from the town's Plaza de Armas. Its idea comes from the Inca tambos, the waystations where travelers once found food and shelter on the road toward Machu Picchu. The resort has 128 rooms and suites, and it keeps a private railway station on site, so the Machu Picchu service starts at the hotel rather than in a distant town.

Hawa is the main restaurant, serving novo Andean dishes built around produce from the hotel's own organic garden, which covers 2,000 square meters. Kiri Bar opens at 4 pm daily with a gin list, pisco drinks and a terrace facing the valley. Boulevard x Tambo del Inka, at the edge of the grounds, brings together locally made clothing, a coffee shop and La Cervecería, a bar for Peruvian craft beer.

Kallpa Spa is the other reason to stay in. It has a thermal circuit, underwater beds, a couples' massage room with a Jacuzzi and treatments based on Inca ingredients. Deluxe Rooms measure 41 square meters, with a balcony facing the river, while the Senior Suite reaches 82 square meters. A complimentary fitness center with sauna and steam rooms sits next to the heated pools.
