About Inkaterra La Casona
La Casona occupies a 16th century manor on Plaza Las Nazarenas, a short walk from Cusco's main square. The land first belonged to an academy that trained elite Inca soldiers, and later guests of the house included the conquistador Diego de Almagro and Simón Bolívar. The hotel opened in May 2008 after a restoration that kept the carved doors, stone arches and original murals. A heavy street door stays closed to non-guests, so the courtyard feels private.
There are only 11 suites, all facing either the arcaded courtyard or the plaza: five Balcon, four Patio and two Plaza suites. Each has a stone fireplace, a marble bathroom with a deep tub and heated floors, while colonial furniture and Pre-Columbian textiles fill the halls. Oxygen is included for guests adjusting to Cusco's altitude, and each stay comes with a welcome drink, a cocktail hour and afternoon tea.
The dining room on the ground floor serves Peruvian dishes with a modern twist, and a terrace offers an alternative setting. A small therapy room offers massage and oxygen treatments, and the hotel keeps a library and lounge for quiet evenings. The San Blas workshops and the main square are both close by.

Good to know
- The street door stays closed to non-guests, so the hotel works like a private house rather than a lobby-style hotel.
- Patio Suites are on the first floor and Plaza Suites on the second, so ask when booking if stairs matter to your group.
- Suites are set up for two adults, and one listing says cribs cannot be accommodated, so families should check the bed arrangements before booking.
