About Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge
The lodge stands on the left bank of the Marañón River, about 120 km (74.5 miles) southwest of Iquitos, in the buffer zone of Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. Getting there has two stages: a road transfer from Iquitos to the port of Nauta, then a speedboat to the lodge. Flights should land in Iquitos before 9:00 am and leave after 6:00 pm. Other times mean arranging extra transfers.
There are 10 cabins, named with Kukama Kukamiria numbers from Wepe (1) to Chunka (10). Every cabin has its own bathroom, nets over the beds and a terrace looking onto the garden. The Wepe to Tsukta cabins are set up for families of 3 to 6 people, Kantsi to Chunka suit couples and small groups, and a Premium cabin adds a private terrace for guests who want more seclusion.
Days revolve around guided excursions in Spanish or English: boat trips through the Mirror Forest, day and night walks, an aguaje palm climb and visits to local communities. Wildlife on offer includes pink and grey river dolphins, caimans, primates and more than 449 bird species. From July to November, guests can join a taricaya turtle release. Transfers, meals and reserve entry are bundled into programs of 2 to 6 days.

How long is the trip from Iquitos to the lodge?
The road from Iquitos to the port of Nauta takes 1 hour 40 minutes. A speedboat then covers the last stretch in 30 to 40 minutes.
Which flight times work with the lodge transfers?
