About Willka T'ika Luxury Wellness Retreat
Willka T'ika is laid out as seven gardens, each planted to match one of the body's chakras and filled with Andean medicinal plants. Guest rooms are built from stone and mud bricks made from the property's own earth, and each is named after the medicinal plant growing by its door. Fresh flowers wait in the room, and a hot-water bottle is slipped into the bed at night, a welcome touch when evenings cool down at 2,881 m.
Days here follow yoga, walks and spa time. There are two sunlit yoga studios, and guests can join a free yoga and strength class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, 7 to 8 am. The spa offers massage, reflexology and crystal light therapy, plus floral baths heated by the sun and taken outdoors at night. A sweat lodge and plunge pool are also on the grounds. Treatments are booked by appointment.
Dinner is a set three-course vegetarian meal, and breakfast is a buffet, both drawn from the hotel's organic gardens. Wi-Fi is limited to one dedicated room, so the mood stays calm. That suits couples and solo travelers who want quiet and restoration more than a lively resort scene. For outings, the Maras salt mines can be reached on foot, and Ollantaytambo station is a 30-minute drive.
